Israel, the birthplace of our Lord and Savior, was probably everyones favorite destination. Not because of the people or the countryside but because visiting Israel let us experience the land and people Jesus loved. Israel is where I first began to see what Jesus saw, a land occupied by people following false religions. In that respect not much has changed in 2000 years. And yet God’s love for individuals has not changed and his call for us to evangelize and disciple have taken on a new urgency.
