Philadelphia School is very proud of our basketball teams. In the 1997-1998 school year both our boys and girls were the champions of the Tennessee State TNT Tournament. In the 1998-1999 school year our boys won the championship again!

We honor our athletes every year with a banquet sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia. Outstanding athletes who were former Philadelphia students, are usually asked to speak to our young athletes at the banquet.
Past guest speakers have Included: Bernadette Locke, who is the head coach of the women's basketball team at the University of Kentucky, Bruce Wilkerson, who played professional football for the Oakland Raiders andthe Greenbay Packers and John Ward, the retired voice of the Vols. The students were thrilled!
